伟大的教育家陶行知先生曾说过:"就生命与教育的关系而言,生命决定教育"。生物学与生活的许多方面有着非常密切的联系。
在生物课程中,学生将通过日常作业、实验室实验、生物项目和定期练习测试,对课程知识的获取、分析和支持有基本的了解。生物课程已经创造了一个高成就的环境,通过实验和课程,学术的严谨性和创造性得到了普遍赞许和支持。
对于Pre IG的学生来说,目前的课程内容学习是为他们进入IGCSE阶段学习打下基础。在传授知识的同时,让学生将知识与日常生活联系起来。最近我们在学习呼吸系统,学生们结合课本,通过查阅相关资料,准备并展示了关于吸烟对呼吸系统的影响。
本学期对大多数十一至十三年级的学生来说是相当重要的,因为他们将在今年夏天参加考试,将从5月到6月中旬开始。为了使这段备考时间变得有趣和引人入胜,我们将新的实践活动带入课堂,并使生物教学成为对学生和教师来说都是一个更丰富和有意义的经历。我们用大量的实验来让学生了解批判性思维和科学方法。
Tao Xingzhi said, "In terms of the relationship between life and education, life determines education." Biology is very closely linked to many aspects of life.
In biology, student will have a basic understanding of how scientific knowledge is acquired, analyzed, and supported in the fields of Biology through daily assignments, lab experiments, projects, and regular practice tests. Biology department have created an environment of high achievement, where academic rigor and creativity are celebrated and supported through labs and classes.
For Pre-IG students, the current study is a foundation for them to study IGCSE later on. As well as imparting knowledge, I also allow the students to relate their knowledge to daily life. Recently we have been studying the breathing system and the students have prepared and presented a presentation on the effects of smoking on the breathing system by reviewing relevant information in conjunction with their textbooks.
ThistermisquiteimportanttomostY11,Y12 andY13studentsastheyareexpectedtosittheexternalexamsinthissummer.OXAIGandALevelexamswillstartfromtheMay tothemid-June. In order to make this exam preparation time fun and exciting by bringing new hands-on activities into the classrooms, and to make teaching and learning Biology a more enriching and rewarding experience for both students and teachers. We used lots of experiments to let students understand the critical thinking and scientific method.
十一年级学生进行了关于温度如何影响酵母菌呼吸的实验,学生们把酵母放在不同的温度下,气球的大小会呈现酵母不同的呼吸速度。
Y11 did experiments about how temperature affect yeast respiration. They put them into different temperature and the size of the balloon will present yeast respiration rate.
他们利用自己在无氧呼吸方面的知识来研究如何进行发酵。
They used their knowledge from anerobic respiration to see how to do fermentation.
我们还在校园里进行了一次小型户外实地考察,以识别不同的植物。学生们制作了自己的植物标本,并可以拿来作为书签使用。
We also had a small field trip on campus to identify different plants.They made their own plants specimens which can be used as bookmarks.
实践在生物课程学习中是非常重要的。为了准备AS考试中的操作问题,十二年级的学生进行了一些实验操作,如用显微镜观察洋葱芽尖的有丝分裂。
Practical is really important in biology studying. In order to prepare practical questions in AS exam, Y12 students carried some practical such as using microscopes to look at mitosis in onion shoot tip.
十二、十三年级的学生对AS和A Level考试严阵以待,他们很快通过知识的学习,完成了课堂上的相关练习。在每个新的章节之后,他们都进行了章节测试以检查他们对课程内容的理解。所有的学生都在学业进阶的轨道上努力着,尽力准备。
此外,本学期引入了GPA评估系统,提高了生物课的效率,增加了学生的积极性。我们希望学生们能一直保持积极的学习态度。
Y11,Y12 and Y13 students have strong mentality towards their AS and A Level exams. They quickly learn through theknowledgeandfinishtherelativeexercisesgiven in class. After each new chapter, they took chapter test to check their understanding. All of them are on the right track and try their best to prepare the exams.
In addition to the introduction of the GPA assessment system this term, which has improved the efficiency of the Biology and increased student motivation. We hope that students will maintain their positive attitude toward learning!
